Psychodelirium – Artwork
Potential skateboard graphic.
Artwork inspired by the song No Biscuit by The Animal Objective.
Available as a 22cm x 57cm signed digital art print in my online shop.
Theme: A reoccurring theme in many of my personal illustrations is that of the of The Underground Merry-go-round – A fluid, fantastical world of curious, metamorphosing lifeforms, living together in a constant state of oppression and conflict. I also use this theme within my musical project The Animal Objective where surreal and twisted stories from The Underground Merry-go-round are recounted in the form of songs. Sometimes the artworks inspire the songs and sometimes the songs inspire the artworks.
This piece illustrates the physical suffering of certain ‘cold climate’ dwelling members of the general Underground Merry-go-round public who stray into warmer climes in their attempts to flee from the oppression of their icy home lands. The dual effects of overheating and the lack of frozen biscuit tree rations causes a similar (albeit less deadly) delirium to that suffered when inhaling the Barry Cat Paw plant – as illustrated in the later ‘Saw into my Head’ artwork description. The delirium will pass as they slowly metamorphose themselves into warm climate dwellers, although their foolish attempts to escape the unpleasant grips of the all seeing eyes of the Barefaced Queen will come to no avail!
An as yet untitled song inspired by these artworks is currently being composed for The Animal Objective.
